Former governor of Anambra state,Peter Obi, says that the Nigerian governors under the administration of Goodluck Jonathan were advised to save for unforseen circumstances but we refused.

Peter Obi also said that former minister of finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),  Muhammad Sanusi II,begged the federal government to put more interest in its savings but the governors kicked against the idea.

Obi, Speaking on CNBC Africa, said he was not against the Muhammadu Buhari government’s plan to borrow, but he was against borrowing without a plan.
