The baby was born with four legs and two penises.
But she and father Chennabasava, 26, were visibly shocked to find their child had extra limbs, but were happy to accept him and raise him up the way he was born.
However, after speaking to doctors, the parents, who also have a three-year-old son, agreed to take their newborn to Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences where the baby was placed in neonatal care.
At the time Dr Divakar Gaddi, who handled the baby's case – Polymelia - said it was challenging but they were looking into chances of possible surgery.
He said: "A team of surgeons is looking into the baby's condition. It is a very challenging case for us."
Speaking at the time of his birth, Lalitamma said: "It is God's gift to us. We had never expected anything wrong could happen to our child. My first son, born three years ago, is healthy. My husband and I were willing to raise the child just the way he was.
"But doctors advised us to take him to an advanced hospital for better treatment. We are poor and have no money for his treatment.
“I do not know what will happen to my child. I only hope he becomes normal. "
The baby underwent successful surgery.
