The Gunners desperately need another centre-half after the £4.6m departure of Laurent Koscielny.

Chelsea re-signed the player for £32m in 2016 but will reportedly accept a small fee to get the player out of the club.

Luiz only has one year left on his Stamford Bridge contract so Lamps is prepared to cut his losses and let the player go, saving millions in wages which will be used when the club's transfer embargo ends.

Luiz had reportedly gone on strike to force through the move.
