Gov. Sule says APC officials are powerless to stop El-Rufai's ministerial nomination process.

The Progressives Governors' Forum (PGF) has no say in the ministerial nomination disputes involving former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, according to Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule.
“El-Rufai is still a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), even though the National Assembly rejected his ministerial nomination in August 2023,” PGF member Sule explained in an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday.
Sule confirmed, "El-Rufai is still a member of our party and has not left."

He clarified that neither the PGF nor the Nigeria Governors' Forum had any jurisdiction over the events that led to El-Rufai's nomination and subsequent rejection.

"To be honest with you, neither the Progressives Governors' Forum nor even the Nigeria Governors' Forum addressed the issues that led to El-Rufai's candidacy or his rejection by the Senate or security agencies. They are not problems because there is nothing we can do about things that don't worry us, Sule said.

The governor further emphasized that the President and other pertinent agencies alone have the authority to make judgments about ministerial nominations.

"The president has the authority to choose who shall serve as his minister, and he made the nomination. Additionally, some organizations, such as the National Assembly, have the authority to approve or reject, and they did not accept him," Sule said.
