The Scot is the favorite and might be named manager prior to Wednesday's match against Aston Villa. He has been Everton's most successful manager since Howard Kendall.
Three hours prior to Thursday's FA Cup match against Peterborough, Dyche was fired. Seamus Coleman, the captain, and coach Leighton Baines took over as interim managers.
After being named as the new owners' preferred option to succeed Dyche, Moyes is anticipated to receive a contract for the remainder of the current campaign and at least one more year.
Although there are other applicants, the 61-year-old is thought to be the greatest fit for their current situation due to his familiarity with the team, Premier League experience, and triumphs in relegation struggles at both Everton and West Ham.
Everton will move into their new £760 million stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock for the upcoming season after the Friedkin Group (TFG) completed a takeover three weeks ago.
Moyes is thought to be a low-risk pick to help them win the Premier League for the 72nd straight season.
On the other hand, TFG's first hire at Roma, Jose Mourinho, is not being considered and will not be hired. Graham Potter was not as much of an Everton target as had been indicated. Potter was linked to Everton before joining West Ham.
Until the 53-year-old approached them this week and stated he felt his race at the club was run, TFG had intended to retain Dyche until the end of the season, when his contract expired.
Dyche has requested payment for the balance owed on his contract. Following discussions that resulted in a lower payoff, TFG contacted Moyes.
The Scot was Everton's longest-serving manager since Harry Catterick, having served for 11 years before joining Manchester United in 2013. Over his 516-game tenure, he achieved eight top-eight finishes.
Since then, he has managed West Ham, United, Real Sociedad, and Sunderland twice. The Hammers won the Europa Conference League, their first trophy in forty-three years. After leaving the London Stadium in the summer, he was given an OBE.
