Timini Egbuson, popularly known as the “Nollywood bad boy,” recently had a conversation with renowned actress and producer Biodun Stephen about remarks she made implying a split among Nigerian actors.

In the past, Biodun had used Instagram to ask YouTube subscribers for help in spotting up-and-coming talent. She noted that fans' inclination for A-list actors frequently results in lower attendance for movies with lesser-known actors.

"YOUTUBE audience, I salute you," Biodun wrote. This new year, is there anything I can ask for? YouTube is the only platform where we can debut new actors, and producers must assist them.

If you just clock on the movies that feature your favorites, we can't accomplish that. Only if you give that movie a chance will you be able to add it to your list of favorites. 2025, assist us in finding new stars.

Additionally, Biodun made a suggestion to her audience: "Now, here's what I'm requesting. You may rely on me to provide reliable actors who will provide their best performances. Have faith that the tale will be told.

"Can I rely on you to watch it? Saying "yes" is quite simple, but how can I earn your commitment? I need your faith in order to create new stars. I salute the YouTube audience.

However, when Biodun referred to some actresses as "YouTube actors" in her subsequent piece, it sparked criticism.

She wrote in a different post: "YouTube Actors… Breathe, inhale, exhale, please. Avoid suffocating us.

She justified her remarks by saying that while such statements are not characteristic of her, the numbers on YouTube movie releases have grown more alarming.

In response to her tweet, Timini Egbuson declared, "What is a YouTube actor? An actor is an actor.

Stephen Biodun's answer to the misinterpreted remark

Fans and followers responded strongly to this exchange, which finally caused Biodun to take down the controversial post.

She explained, “I have chosen to take down the post, as the conversation seems to stir in an unintended direction. Bless.”
