The Speed-Spending Sisters: How They Accidentally Stole the Show at Their Brother’s Wedding
At their brother's wedding, two women made a serious error by unintentionally.

Alex Hutcherson and Abigayle Specovius were "mortified" when they learned they arrived at their brother's wedding ceremony at The 1909 in Topanga, California, dressed in the same hue as the bridesmaids. On December 11, 2024, a video of the clothing conundrum was posted on TikTok, and it received over 7 million views and nearly 400 comments.

"That one time my sister and I decided to wear the same color dress," Hutcherson captioned her photo. "We matched the bridesmaids." FAIL."

In the video, the videographer focuses on Hutcherson and her sister, who are dressed in emerald green and smiling awkwardly to the side of the wedding party. The camera then cuts to five bridesmaids dressed in the same shade of green.

"Had no idea the wedding color was green," Hutcherson wrote in an onscreen caption.

Hutcherson told PEOPLE, "Really, it was an honest mistake."

TikTok users commented that the coincidence may have been averted if the wedding dress code had been more clearly stated.
"We need to NORMALIZE putting the no-wear colors somewhere for guests to view!!!!" one individual commented. "This is always my #1 anxiety!!!"

Hutcherson clarified in a reply that the couple did not agree on any wedding colors. Even when she directly asked about it, no dress code information was provided. "Unfortunately, they said nothing when we asked. "We were mortified," she remarked, before repeating herself, "WE WERE MORTIFIED!!!!"

"We had NO CLUE that the wedding color was green," Hutcherson tells PEOPLE. "Their invitations were black and white, as was the website. Their website wasn't done either.

I believe it is critical to address these issues and specify your wedding colors! Consider the individual who is so ashamed that it wrecks the evening or causes unnecessary drama.

She also suggested in the comments that she and her sister were unjustly chastised for their mistake, as she responded "THE GLARES!!!" to a comment from another TikToker who made the same error and received foul stares from bridesmaids.

Hutcherson tells PEOPLE that the bridesmaids "didn't necessarily say anything" to them, "but the looks and overall vibe was off."

"They were not a fan," she continues.
