The Mask King, which was written and directed by Awal Abdulfatai and Uduak Obong, is sure to be a memorable film.

Francis stated in an interview that the film's production had a substantial budget, with at least N300 million allocated to the project.

The production's producer made a suggestion that the actors would have to travel between Calabar and Creek Town, where the plot is set.

He pointed out that the tale, which covertly highlighted how Scottish missionary Mary Slessor, who is well-known for her part in preventing the murder of twins in Okoyong, Cross River, was filmed to present the African story in an engaging way while maintaining authenticity, morals, and customs.

He acknowledged that the project requires a significant amount of resources because it involves rebuilding the king's royal house to recreate the actual event and taking boats from Calabar to Creek Town, but he swiftly added, "that it was a worthy venture."

Additionally, he stated that every effort was made to ensure that the cast, crew, talents, and equipment used in the production were the best in order to capture the audience.

He went on to say that even though it was "difficult to put resources together," we managed to collect money from a few sponsors and investors, hotel and airfare discounts, and assistance from the Cross River State tourist commissioner in terms of scouting and geographical usability.

Although he is hopeful about the film's return on investment, Cassidy added that he anticipates "the film would sell itself organically, having been pushed massively into the market."

In order to encourage creativity in the film, the associate producer disclosed that the cast was carefully chosen to speak Efik and represent the true nature of the characters they were given.

He claims that despite numerous obstacles that delayed the film's release, the crew produced an excellent performance and a timeless film that is a must-see.

While expressing hope for future cooperation on larger projects, Cassidy also praised the partnership with Francis, whom he saw as an older brother from boyhood.
