Full List: 40 countries whose citizens can enter the U.S. without a visa
With some noteworthy additions, the United States (U.S.) has published the list of nations that qualify for its 2025 Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

The UK is no longer on the general eligibility list, but it is still eligible under certain circumstances.

Notably, the new list does not contain any African nations, such as South Africa, Ghana, or Nigeria.

Romania's inclusion in the 2025 update is a major highlight, demonstrating the U.S. government's emphasis on enhancing diplomatic connections and giving priority to nations who adhere to strict border security norms.

What Is the US Visa Waiver Program?

The VWP permits citizens or nationals of participating nations to enter the country for up to 90 days for transit, business, or tourism without a visa, according to the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs.

According to the bureau, "Travelers must meet all requirements outlined below and have a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval prior to travel." You can still apply for a visiting visa if you would rather have a visa in your passport.

Millions of people can now enter the country without a visa because to the 2025 revisions, which also simplify access for tourists and business travelers.
