Chimamanda Adichie's Latest Work Makes Waves with $55K Prize Longlist on Launch

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's fourth book, Dream Count, was just released, but it has already earned a spot on the 2025 Women's Prize for Fiction longlist. Now in its 30th year, the UK-based Award honors the greatest English-language novel by a woman and gives the laureate £30,000 (US$38,123).
Adichie, whose writings have influenced modern literature, is a nominee for Dream Count, a book that tracks four women in Nigeria and America as they deal with the weight of their decisions, memories, and identity. The longlist "shows the echoes of world events on everyday lives as well as the power and brilliance of women writing today," according to Kit De Waal, chair of the judges.
