Shallipopi slams Headies organisers after losing category to Odumodublvck

After losing to rapper Odumodublvck in the Next Rated category, singer Crown Uzama, better known by her stage as Shallipopi, has criticized the Headies Awards organizers.

The Landmark Event Centre in Lagos hosted the 17th Headies Awards on Sunday.


Despite winning the Best Rap Single category for Cast, his collaboration with Odumodublvck, Shallipopi took to his official X page on Monday to express his dissatisfaction with the event's outcome.

Odumodublvck defeated Shallipopi, Qing Madi, Ayo Maff, and Nasboi, who were also nominated, to win the Next Rated honor. Singer Davido gave out the award.

Shallipopi wrote, "Mtchewwww, The next one if una see me make I bend," in response to the development.

He went on to say: "I won't even lie for a sef; I don't want the prize to go to the actual rappers in that category. I'm not a rapper, Shallipopi. Before I sever the chain, let's all unwind.

Shallipopi, who turned 24 recently, is well-known for songs like Evil Receive and Elon Musk.

Since then, his remarks have generated a range of internet responses, with both supporters and detractors expressing differing opinions.
