Inside the Political Drama: Okowa's Response to Saraki's Critique

Ifeanyi Okowa, former presidential running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has chastised former Senate President Bukola Saraki for berating him over his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Okowa switched from the PDP to the APC last week and was officially welcomed into the party on Monday.
Following his departure, Saraki stated that anyone who wanted to leave the PDP "should leave now while the faithful ones concentrate on rebuilding the party and refocusing it to play the role of a viable opposition that will provide a better alternative for the good people of Nigeria".
Okowa criticized Saraki's remark, claiming that the previous Senate President had also joined the APC before returning to the PDP.

In an interview with Arise Television, Okowa stated, "I didn't expect Senator Bukola Saraki to be able to speak about me because he also moved to the APC before eventually returning.
"I don't believe he has any moral right to discuss my defection. Those who doubt my political reach should wait until the next election in 2027.
“It doesn’t appear that a vehicle has been confirmed for that coalition, neither does it appear to us, as a state and as a political family, that the coalition was able to build strength within the short period of time available.”
