Mercy Johnson Sets the Record Straight: 'I Do Not Have Cancer!

After a video of Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie talking about a cancer scare went viral, she responded to questions about her health.

In the Mercy's Menu TV program footage, the actress talked about her health issues and her unexpected weight loss with her coworker Joke Silva. She also disclosed that she had a cancer scare and had surgery to remove her thyroid.

The movie diva received well wishes and prayers from some admirers who thought this meant she had cancer.

In response, Okojie confirmed that she does not have cancer in a video message posted on her Instagram profile. She clarified that a tumor on her thyroid that her doctor had suspected as being malignant was actually non-cancerous.

"Thank you to everyone who has been calling and sending messages and prayers," she stated. I'm really grateful, but I'm not cancerous.

"An excerpt from my television program, Mercy's Menu, has been making the rounds, and I believe it was chopped. "I had a cancer scare," I said. If you can see the line there, it indicates that I have swelling on my neck, which my physicians thought was significant. I experienced thyroid issues.

"I'm doing really fine. I sincerely appreciate all of your calls and texts. I don't have cancer, and I'm doing great.
