Celebrated Highlife Legend Mike Ejeagha Passes at 95 - A Legacy Remembered

Known for turning Igbo proverbs and culture into enthralling music, Mike Ejeagha, a legendary figure in Highlife, died at the age of 95.

After a protracted illness, Ejeagha passed away on Friday night at around 8 p.m. at the 32 Garrison Hospital in Enugu.

Emma Ejeagha, his oldest son, confirmed the heartbreaking news to Vanguard over the phone.

With his distinctive Igbo folk music style that appealed to all age groups, Mike Ejeagha dominated Nigerian radio in the 1980s.
