Court Drama: Speed Darlington Released as Burna Boy & P. Diddy Weigh In
The controversial singer Darlington Okoye, often known as Speed Darlington, has been granted bail by an Abuja court.
The Nigeria Police Force arraigned him in court after caving in to pressure.
Deji Adeyanju, Darlington's attorney, revealed this via X, writing: "Speed Darlington is finally arraigned in court by police."
"The bail application was granted after being transferred. We're both aiming for perfection.
His bail details are not yet available to the public.
But in response to his ongoing arrest, Okoye recently petitioned DIG Dasuki Galadanchi, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, Abuja.
In his plea, Okoye requested that the DIG follow a court order against the police's ongoing arrest of him.
The controversial musician was detained because it was alleged that Burna Boy, a Grammy Award winner, had an immoral relationship with Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy, a troubled American singer.
However, in the December 23, 2024, order, Justice M.S. Liman instructed the police to either prosecute Okoye with a crime within 48 hours or release him without charge.
