Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Tems, other Nigerians dominate 2025 AAEA awards

Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Tems, Darkoo, Ayra Starr, and other Nigerian musicians topped the 2025 Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (AAEA) winners list.

This year's AAEA Music Awards saw several categories won by Nigerian musicians.

The AAEA made the announcement on its official page.

Davido and American artist Chris Brown received the Best Global Collaboration award for their song "Hmm," while Wizkid and US singer Brent Faiyaz's "Piece of My Heart" took home the Best Afro-R&B title.

Wizkid and Asake's song "MMS" won the Best Afro-Native prize. Darkoo, a British-Nigerian singer, won the Best Diasporan Act award for her hit song "Favourite Girl," which Rema remixed.

Burna Boy won the title of Africa's Overall Male Artist. Tyla was named the Best Female Artist in Southern Africa and the Overall Female Artist of the Year.

Tems received the title of Best African Female Artist Worldwide. The Best Rapper in West Africa title went to OdumoduBlvck.

Ayra Starr received Best Female Artist, West Africa, and street pop sensation Seyi Vibez took home Best Male Artist, West Africa.

According to the DAILY POST, the AAEA awards honor the accomplishments of musicians throughout Africa.
