Political Showdown: Obasa Takes Legal Action Against Lagos Assembly!

Obasa sues Lagos Assembly over impeachment
Mudashiru Obasa, the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly who was impeached, has sued the Lagos High Court, requesting his immediate reinstatement.
Obasa, who left office on January 13, 2025, is contesting whether his impeachment was lawful.
Among other things, the legislator is pleading for an order that would void his dismissal and reinstate him as Speaker.
Lasbat Mojisola Meranda, the current Speaker, and the Lagos State House of Assembly were named as defendants in the lawsuit, which was filed yesterday.
In the lawsuit, Obasa claims that the processes were unlawful since the plenary session on January 13th, when he was impeached, was improperly called.
