In a statement posted on his X Twitter, Atiku called the event "completely reprehensible" and stated that a comprehensive inquiry must be conducted.

He finds it puzzling that the invading agents are purportedly authorized to impose a change of leadership in the House.

"The widely shared footage of armed security personnel storming the Lagos State House of Assembly is completely disgusting and is condemned," he stated. A comprehensive and in-depth examination is required. The fact that the occupying agents are purportedly mandated to impose a change in leadership within the House is perplexing.

"It is disgusting that those who professed to have fought for democracy chose to condone this blatant disrespect for the state's most important legislature, thus endangering our hard-won democracy."

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) called it shameful that security personnel were invited to participate in a parliamentary dispute resolution process.

"This act is a landmark of humiliation to the Nigerian electorate, particularly the Lagos residents, and an assault on the sanctity of democracy." Whatever the root cause of the Lagos State House of Assembly's leadership problem, it is a typical undercurrent in a democracy.

"It is unacceptable to invite armed security personnel to a parliament to resolve a dispute; this should be condemned and thoroughly investigated." Atiku stated, "Instead of meddling in state affairs, Tinubu should concentrate on pulling Nigeria out of the mess he put the nation in."

According to Channels Television, the Lagos State House of Assembly's leadership contest took a new turn on Monday when a plenary session was held there with a high level of security.

In the commercial city's Alausa Area, security vans and staff were observed both inside and outside the Lagos Assembly building.

Security guards patrolled the roads leading to the Lagos Assembly building prior to the session.

When some of the security personnel attempted to enter the Assembly chambers, there was a little drama. The plenary was postponed for several hours as a result.
