Caught in the Act: Passenger Arrested Mid-Flight for Theft on Air Peace

Air Peace has detained and placed a passenger on its blacklist after they were found in possession of stolen goods during a journey from Lagos to Port Harcourt.
Ejike Ndiulo, the airline's head of corporate communications, stated in a statement on Thursday that following a thorough investigation upon arrival at Port Harcourt International Airport, the suspect was discovered in possession of the lost items.
According to Ndiulo, the passenger was turned over right away to airport police for additional examination and any required action.
We certify that on February 19, 2025, Flight P47190 experienced an instance of in-flight theft. The statement read, "The airline has taken decisive action in response to the situation and reiterates its unwavering commitment to passenger safety and security."

The airline announced steps to stop the trend after expressing alarm about the rise in in-flight theft instances in recent weeks.
"The increasing trend of in-flight thefts seen in recent weeks is extremely concerning to Air Peace. The airline is putting more surveillance on its flights to combat this threat," the statement continued.
Cabin crew members have been told to be more vigilant during flights as part of these precautions, and there will be more in-flight announcements to inform passengers on how to secure their luggage and report suspicious activity.
As part of its zero-tolerance policy for behavior that jeopardizes the comfort and safety of passengers, Air Peace has also suggested that the suspect be placed on a blacklist.
"The increasing trend of in-flight thefts seen in recent weeks is extremely concerning to Air Peace. The airline is putting more surveillance on its flights to combat this threat," the statement continued.
