Mojeed Fatai, the deputy speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has stepped down.

Additionally, Sanni Okanlawon, the Assembly's Chief Whip, has resigned from office.

Lawmakers have commended Speaker Mojisola Meranda for "letting go" and following the All Progressives Congress's instructions.

Lawmakers have praised Meranda's 49 days in office and anticipate her resignation as Speaker shortly.
