Timi Dakolo vs Apostle Femi Lazarus: The Truth Behind the $150 Ministry School Scandal

Pastor Femi Lazarus and well-known singer Timi Dakolo's continuing argument has taken a new turn as Dakolo levels new charges against the founder of the Light Nation Church.
The dispute started because both individuals had different opinions about whether gospel performers should be paid to play at church functions, which led to a lot of internet debate.
In a widely shared video, Pastor Femi Lazarus criticized gospel musicians who expect payment for their services, arguing that they should put their faith in God for provision rather than focusing on making money.
He maintained that gospel artists are more than just entertainers; they are also gospel ministers.
However, Timi Dakolo strongly disagreed with this perspective, claiming that pastors forced gospel singers to provide their talents at no cost.

Dakolo defended his assertion with a snapshot purportedly showing the school's tuition schedule and attacked the pastor for making money off of what he called a revelation and a freely offered gift.
"Sir, all of this was expressed with respect and love. Although I was brought up in a church, I am not a gospel artist. Let's not change the objective. According to your definition, those who charge to minister are performers rather than gospel artists. According to that definition, preachers who charge for their services are also motivational speakers, performers, and merchants of hope.
You are charging as little as $150 a person for your ministry school, sir. preaching and teaching about Jesus.
Probably having as much as 1000 students. Let’s do the maths. You even have premium and standard for God’s house?
“Are you not selling the gift and revelation freely given to you? Again, let’s not keep shifting the goal post.”
