Protest erupts in Otukpo over incessant killings, kidnappings
The increasing number of murders and kidnappings in Otukpo, Benue State, has angered locals, who have taken to the streets to protest.

According to DoroTV, the protesters, who were yelling, "We no go gree!" stopped major roadways and called on the government and security forces to take immediate action to alleviate the increasing insecurity.

The frequent attacks were bemoaned by one of the demonstrators, Daniel Oche, who called them a "constant recurrence." In a startling admission, he also claimed that the community's electricity is always turned off before to an attack.

"This has been occurring repeatedly. Even our own houses are unsafe. Have you noticed, too? Light is always taken before any activity by NEPA (JEDC). He remarked, "It seems like they don't want us to see what's coming."

The demonstration, which has attracted a sizable crowd, comes after many fatal assaults in the region. Many people have been forced to leave their houses due to the violence, and those who are left live in constant fear, according to the locals.

To control the situation, no security personnel have been sent in.

More information to come.
