Major Surprises Await as Seun Kuti and Rema Set to Electrify 2025 Coachella!

The 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, over two weekends (April 11–13 and April 18–20), will feature performances by African singers such as Seun Kuti and Rema.

Every year, millions of music lovers flock to Coachella, one of the most famous music festivals in the world. Nigerian Afrobeat icon Seun Kuti is one of the highlight performers at the 2025 edition, which will showcase a wide variety of talent. 

He will be performing with his band Egypt 80 at the festival for the third time. Being the first Nigerian to perform at Coachella in 2012, Kuti is the Nigerian artist with the most Coachella appearances.


"It's always an honor to represent Afrobeat music on such a massive stage, and I'm excited to share my sound with even more people in 2025," Kuti said in response to his comeback.

This year, Rema, a rising international star, will join Kuti. Rema, who is well-known for his hits that break records, is the only Nigerian musician to have both the most-streamed and the highest-charting song. Fans are excited to see his ascent on such a distinguished stage, and his performance is greatly awaited.

More than 100 performers are on the Coachella 2025 schedule, and a variety of acts will be the main attractions.

Green Day, an American rock band, will perform. Their 1991 album Kerplunk, which has sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide, is still among the best-selling independent albums of all time. The festival's third day will be headlined by superstar Post Malone, who is famous for having the most RIAA diamond-certified singles.

In recent years, there has been a notable increase in the number of Nigerian attendees at Coachella. In 2024, Burna Boy, CKay, Spinall, Fireboy, and Tems joined Wizkid and Justin Bieber for an unforgettable performance of their popular song Essence (Remix).

The performances of Seun Kuti, Rema, and numerous more musicians who are bringing the rich sounds of African music to audiences throughout the world are highly anticipated by music lovers everywhere.
