“My Mother Is a Witch” set to hit cinemas nationwide

On May 23, 2025, the highly anticipated psychological drama "My Mother Is a Witch" will be released in theaters around the country.

Starring Efe Irele, Mercy Aigbe, Timini Egbuson, and Neo Akpofure, the film, which was written and directed by renowned Nigerian filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan, tells a compelling story of family trauma, hidden secrets, and the challenging process of forgiving.

Produced by Anthill Studios and FrameFlixHQ, the film digs into the emotional consequences of childhood grief, exploring the nuances of family relationships through a visceral, character-driven tale. In the movie, Irele plays the role of her estranged mother, played by Mercy Aigbe. Tension, emotional detachment, and painful epiphanies characterize their on-screen interaction.
