Allegations Against Sean Combs: A Second Accuser Steps Forwar

Reuters, New York, May 29 As the hip-hop mogul faces trial for sex trafficking and racketeering, accusations that carry a life sentence if found guilty, Sean "Diddy" Combs was accused of rape by a second woman on Thursday.

Under the alias Mia, a former Combs personal assistant testified in federal court in Manhattan that the founder of Bad Boy Records had sexually assaulted her at least twice.

I simply froze. I took no action. Mia fought back tears and looked into her lap as she recounted an event in which Combs reportedly seized her head and put his penis in her mouth. "I just let it happen," she said.

Combs, 55, entered a not guilty plea to five charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering.

Mia told jurors that Combs had raped her when she was lying motionless in terror after climbing on top of her while she was asleep. Although Combs was occasionally harsh in domestic relationships, his attorneys have stated that every intercourse was consensual.

Although Combs periodically handed notes to his attorneys during the hearing, he otherwise displayed minimal visible emotion.

The third week of testimony has begun before a panel of 12 jurors and six alternates in a federal court in Manhattan. Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, is accused by prosecutors of forcing women to participate in days-long, drug-fueled sex acts with male prostitutes known as "Freak Offs."

Combs' ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura testified tearfully during the first week of the trial, telling jurors that Combs had raped her soon after they ended their relationship permanently and had physically and emotionally tortured her over their turbulent 11-year relationship.

Cassie Ventura, a rhythm and blues singer, claimed that she entered the Freak Offs because she loved Combs and was afraid that if she didn't, he would reveal sex tapes of her.

Combs and Ventura's friends and acquaintances have testified about Combs' alleged abuse, characterizing him as a controlling individual who used allies and bodyguards to facilitate his alleged crimes and maintain victims' obedience.

Due of Combs' cultural prominence and his contribution to popularizing hip-hop through the work of iconic artists like the Notorious B.I.G., the trial has received extensive media coverage.

When not in court, Combs is being imprisoned at a federal prison in Brooklyn after being arrested in Manhattan last September.

When Combs instructed Dawn Richard, a former member of the pop group Danity Kane, to stay quiet about what she saw, she felt frightened, she testified last week.

Rapper Scott Mescudi, better known by his stage name Kid Cudi, testified last week that his car was burned down in 2012, not long after Combs discovered that Mescudi was seeing Ventura.

Prosecutors claim that Combs or his colleagues committed a number of violent or unlawful acts, including the alleged fire of Mescudi's automobile, in order to deter women from leaving his circle and to conceal his abuse.
