Inside the Political Drama: PDP's Call for Peter Obi and Others
PDP begs Peter Obi, others to return
The Anambra Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, to rejoin the party.

When Obi believed he could not fulfill his dream of becoming president within the PDP, he switched to the LP.

Following yesterday's expanded State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting, the PDP issued the call to assess the party's current situation and determine its future in Awka.

The statement, which was signed by Mr. Chidi Chidebe, the PDP Chairman in Anambra, stated that coalitions involving ideologically incompatible political groupings would probably not succeed as planned.

All disgruntled and former PDP members in Anambra are cordially invited by the committee to come home and rejoin the now-revived and reorganized PDP, especially our esteemed former governor, Mr. Peter Obi.

He declared, "We will be delighted to have our brothers and sisters return and join us in our shared endeavor to create a better Nigeria."

He urged the people of Anambra to vote for Jude Ezenwafor and Francis Okeke, his running mate, in the upcoming election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was encouraged by Chidebe to provide an impartial, transparent, and equitable electoral process.

"We urge the good people of Anambra to cast their votes in large numbers for our candidates and to continue their unwavering support for the PDP," he said.

He declared that Chief Clems Ezike had been unanimously nominated to serve as Anambra's National Ex-Officio.

He asked Chief Ali Odefa's Southeast Zonal Executive Committee to acknowledge him and forward his name to the national secretariat.

He expressed satisfaction with the pattern for resolving the party's internal problem and praised the party leadership for a successful May 27 meeting of the National Executive Committee.
