The media and publicity secretary for the IPOB Emma Powerful said in a statement that Kanu will make a condolence visit to the families alongside his entourage.

The IPOB also said its leader will visit sites were some of the members of the IPOB were allegedly killed since 2014 when the group began its agitation for the freedom of Biafra.

Places to be visited by Nnamdi Kanu include Nkpor in Anambra State, National High School, Aba in Abia State, Ugwuocha (Port Harcourt), Rivers State, Mbiama in Baylesa State and Okwei Primary School in Asaba, Delta State.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will visit all the places where our people were killed to pray privately in order to appease the spirits of those who died for our people to live," Powerful said.

“These people died for us. We will also remember Biafran children who were starved to death through the policy of British and Nigerian governments during the genocidal war against the people of Biafra between 1967 and 1970," he said.

Kanu is also expected to visit families of IPOB members killed by security operatives in various protests
