The Red Devils have been in the market for a new centre-forward since letting Romelu Lukaku leave the club last summer and were linked with a whole host of options during the January transfer window.

Odion Ighalo was eventually brought in on loan and remains an option to sign permanently, but Dembele, who has 22 goals for Lyon this season, appears to now be their number one choice.

Here, Sports Mole looks at which shirt numbers would be available to the 23-year-old should he arrive at Old Trafford.

Reports claim that a deal has been struck between Manchester United and Lyon for reported Chelsea target Moussa Dembele.

The France Under-21 international, who impressed whilst at Celtic, has gone from strength to strength since joining the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer of 2018.

Dembele, 23, has scored 31 league goals in 60 appearances for Lyon and is rumoured to be one of Chelsea’s top targets once the transfer window reopens.
