Lagos, Nigeria, will host the 17th Headies Awards on April 5, 2025.
At an unveiling event on Tuesday, January 28, Headies Executive Producer Mr. Ayo Animashun disclosed the date.
Activities for the 17th Headies will begin in March 2025, with the awards ceremony on April 5, 2025, serving as the curtain-raising event.

The 18th edition is scheduled for December 2025, marking the first time the Headies would hold two events in a single calendar year.
Ayo Animashaun explained the circumstances for this decision, stating that the 17th edition was originally scheduled for 2024 but had to be canceled due to unanticipated circumstances.
He emphasized that the Academy plans to continue the award's yearly cycle, which is why there will be another edition in December.
While the 18th edition is probably going to encompass August, the other half of 2024, and a greater portion of 2025, the nomination window for the 17th edition extends from April 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024.
The host and location for the 17th edition, which will return to Nigeria after two editions held outside the nation, have not yet been announced by the Headies.
The 16th edition was held in Atlanta, USA, marking the second time the award presentation was held outside of the nation.
The award had to temporarily leave Nigeria due to planning expenditures, according to Executive Producer Ayo Animashahun.
