The state government, however, has rejected the proposal for a state of emergency, accusing the APC of intentionally inciting chaos in the state in order to fulfill their demand.
On Monday, Osun State Commissioner for Information Kolapo Alimi and APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru appeared as guests on Channels Television's Politics Today.
Senator Basiru responded, "I will suggest that perhaps it will be necessary for the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency," when asked what the best course of action was to address the current political crisis in Osun State. It has reached the point when unruly PDP thugs attack innocent people traveling from fields.

"I call on our amiable president to reject the call of Honourable Bashiru and his cohorts," Alimi said in response to the call for a state of emergency. They intentionally generated chaos in this state, and that is precisely what they are aiming for.
"The identities of our members who were killed will be made public. We urge them to follow the path of peace, as no court of appeals has returned them.
As some reinstated local government chairmen and council members from the state's 30 local government councils returned to their dignified local government headquarters on Monday, claiming to be upholding a court decision in accordance with the rule of law, at least two people were reported killed in the state.
