Speaking at the closing ceremony of the week-long capacity building training on Advance Passenger Information/Passenger Name Record API/PNR Data in National Security and Law Enforcement, which was held at the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) headquarters in Abuja, Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the revelation on Friday.

Kemi Nandap, Comptroller General Immigration Service (CGIS), stated at the ceremony that the initiative was inspired by talks with the UN Organization on Counter Terrorism that were held in Bangkok, Thailand, last year.

"We must do a lot of capacity building because we understand that the administration's efforts in this initiative must be fully maximized. More than 100 cops selected from key regions have been successfully trained by us," she said.

"The immigration service has a crop of patriotic, well-trained personnel who are ready to give their best to the country," Nandap added.
