Omoni Oboli’s ‘Love in Every Word’ removed from YouTube amidst copyright claim
When Omoni Oboli's most recent love drama, "Love in Every Word," was quickly taken down from YouTube on Tuesday night due to a copyright claim made by Chinonso Obiora, also known as Skyberry, Nollywood fans were left in shock.

Since its March 7, 2025, release, the movie has received over 7 million views in only three days, making it Oboli's most streamed video on her YouTube account. It has also become the subject of a contentious debate, igniting confusion and fury on social media.

Oboli, a seasoned Nollywood actor and director with more than 20 years of experience in the business, produced and directed the film, which follows two souls as they navigate love, cultural barriers, and self-discovery.

In a March 10 post on X, Oboli herself commemorated the achievement and thanked the actors and fans for helping the movie become viral.

But the festivities didn't last long. A notice claiming that "Love in Every Word" was "no longer available due to a copyright claim by Chinonso Obiora (Skyberry)" appeared on YouTube by Tuesday, March 11. Fans and industry watchers are perplexed by the abrupt shutdown, and many have taken to X to vent their annoyance and demand clarification.

How is it possible for humans to be so evil? Enoch Owolabi, whose post about the removal went viral and received thousands of reactions and retweets, commented, "How do you claim rights to something that isn't yours?" The feeling was mirrored by other individuals, such as @tabbydaizy and @King____Morgan, who called the scenario "heartbreaking" and questioned if Oboli had properly protected her work with copyright.

There has been a lot of conjecture, with some speculating that the claim may be related to a disagreement over the movie's music, narrative, or other intellectual property. "Did someone sell Omoni Oboli someone else's plot? I'm perplexed," @bigHotbaby1 wrote, expressing the ambiguity surrounding the veracity of the assertion.

Neither Oboli nor Skyberry has commented on the copyright claim or the takedown of the movie as of late Tuesday. Fans and industry stakeholders are waiting for clarification on the nature and resolution of the disagreement as neither YouTube nor the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) have responded.

"Love in Every Word" is now unavailable on YouTube.
