Discover How Uzor Arukwe Turns Controversy into Triumph
The actor Uzor Arukwe has responded to the criticism directed at him for his performance in the widely shared film "Love In Every Word," directed by Omoni Oboli.

Because of his extravagant spending on companion Chioma, Arukwe, who portrayed Odogwu Obiora, has come under fire for allegedly depicting Igbo men as "simps."

Although many people, particularly women, have hailed the film as the ideal representation of how men ought to treat their spouses, several male viewers believed it overstated men's obligations to their partners.

Himp2million, an X user, said: "Anambra men are not simps." Only women who have always believed that an odogwu would spend his last penny on them enjoy your film.

In response to the criticism, Arukwe clarified that spending money on and caring for one's partner is a show of duty rather than weakness.

"Spending money on your woman and taking care of her does not make you a simp," he added. All it does is make you a man of responsibility. If your cash is insufficient to meet your partner's demands, how else can you demonstrate your love for them?

The actor has already been the target of criticism. Uzor Arukwe was charged in 2023 with faking his Igbo accent in the movie "A Tribe Called Judah," directed by Funke Akindele.

In Nollywood, Arukwe keeps showcasing his skill and adaptability in spite of the criticism.
