Lady Gaga sued over ‘logo theft’ for ‘Mayhem’ album cover

The surfboard business Lost International is suing well-known American singer Lady Gaga, claiming that she stole its Mayhem logo for her latest album.
According to Lost International, which has been selling products under the Mayhem brand for more than ten years, the design of Gaga's record is nearly identical to their own logo.
Lost International claims in court filings that it spoke with Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, on the matter prior to the album's release. The business claims, however, that she disregarded their objections and kept using the brand.
Gaga must cease using the logo and pay damages, including any profits she may have made from it, according to the lawsuit, which was filed in a U.S. court.

“The way she styled the word ‘Mayhem’ is nearly identical to ours,” the business noted in its statement.
The firm claims to have patented its version of the logo since 2015 and has produced side-by-side photographs of its products and Gaga’s album design as evidence.
Released on March 7, Gaga's Mayhem album has been a huge hit, reaching the top of 21 nations' charts and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
The album includes her Grammy-winning duet with Bruno Mars, "Die With A Smile," as well as the singles "Disease" and "Abracadabra."
Music critics have hailed the album, calling it a “return to dance-floor Gaga.” In addition to promoting the album with a concert tour, she will be the main act at Coachella next month.
