NAF Secures Vital Brazilian Partnership to Boost Fleet Solutions

NAF seeks Brazil’s support for fleet sustainment
Deeper cooperation between the Nigerian Air Force and Brazil is desired, especially in the fields of technological innovation, maintenance, and training.
During an official visit to Brazil, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, revealed this.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the service's spokesperson, said in a statement on Sunday that the visit is in line with NAF's 2025 Strategic Objectives and that he will be attending the Latin America Aerospace Defence and Security Fair in Rio de Janeiro.
Speaking to important stakeholders during the tour, he said Abubakar stressed the value of global collaboration in tackling Nigeria's ever-changing security issues.

He cited the Air Chief as stating, "We are here to strengthen that bond for mutual benefit, as Nigeria and Brazil have a long history of military cooperation."
The Air Chief had high-level discussions with Lieutenant General Malta, a representative of the Chief of the Brazilian Air Force, and Mr. Bosco Da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defence & Security.
The A-29 Super Tucano fleet's maintenance and potential joint ventures in pilot and technical training, logistics support, and research and development were the main topics of discussion.

Additionally, Air Marshal Abubakar met with representatives from the Portuguese Air Force, Arsenal, FN Herstal, and OGMA, among other international aerospace and defense partners. He said that these encounters are a part of continuous efforts to build a modern, strong, and resilient air force.
The CAS visited GESPI's factory in São José dos Campos and Embraer's production facility in Gavião Peixoto, which produces the KC-390M and A-29 Super Tucano aircraft, after the LAAD Fair. He thanked both businesses for their long-standing assistance and called for more cooperation to improve NAF's mission preparedness.
