Portable sentenced to three months imprisonment
Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Olalomi Okikiola, alias Portable, has been sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.

Portable was sentenced by Chief Magistrate Babajide Ilo of Ogun State.


In April 2023, the singer was arraigned before the Ifo Magistrates' Court on a three-count charge of assault and theft of musical equipment, as detailed in his charge sheet No. MIF/192C/2023.

The singer was eventually given bail in the amount of N300,000, with two sureties from his immediate family.

According to reports, he appeared in court last Thursday and was later remanded for failing to attend earlier hearings despite several adjournments.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Olumide Awoleke, had previously informed the court that the defendant, Habeeb Okikiola, committed the offense on November 18, 2022, at around 11 a.m. at Okeosa, Ilogbo, within the Ifo Magisterial District.

Chief Magistrate Ilo found Portable guilty of counts 1 and 2, and sentenced him to one month in prison with the option of a N10,000 fine for Count 1 and two months in prison with the option of a N20,000 fine for Count 2.
