Why 'Finding Messiah' Still Struggles to Captivate After a Year
When the trailer for Ghanaian-Nigerian music entrepreneur Oscar Heman-Ackah's political-musical drama Finding Messiah was published in January 2024, it created a lot of excitement among fans who were captivated by the action it conveyed.

Daddy Showkey, Sunshine Rosman, Bucci Franklin, Uzi Kwednu, and experienced performers Pete Edochie, Ngozi Ezeonu, Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett, Alex Usifo, and Ejike Asiegbu are among the film's stellar cast members. The movie is set in the made-up country of Zambay.

Though fans are eagerly awaiting its release, the film has not yet been released a year later.

Despite the initial exhilaration, the producers' utter silence has given way to bewilderment and annoyance.

In a previous interview regarding the film, the producer said that bringing the lovely but fictional world of Zambay to life was one of the biggest obstacles he had to overcome.

"That meant I had to personalize everything to make it as plausible as possible," he said.

As absurd as it may sound, in order to accomplish this, we had to create a small community. We constructed homes, elite homes, workplaces, streets, you name it.
