Akwa Ibom governor’s daughter accuses dad of sacrificing late first lady; alleges threat to life

In a social media video, Jane Edidiong Ufot, the daughter of Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno, accused him of offering his late wife—her mother—as a sacrifice. In September 2024, Patience Oluwakemi Umo Eno passed away from an unspecified disease.
Mrs. Ufot, who was designated as the governor's senior special adviser on health, safety, and the environment, scolded her father, claiming that she and her young daughter were in grave danger and that she would not be sacrificed like her mother had been.
"Mummy was a sacrifice, but I am not," the governor's daughter roared.

Mrs. Ufot gave the phone to her young daughter, who seemed to be speaking with Mr. Eno via video call. Mrs. Ufot instructed her daughter to inquire with the governor about his desire to murder her (his grandchild).
The child repeated the question as directed, "So, Grandpa, do you want them to kill us?" "Do you want them to pass away the way my younger brother did?"
The governor did not respond audibly during the interaction, and it is still unknown to whom the youngster was referencing when she used the pronoun "them."
Mrs. Ufot claimed that because of unreported information that might shortly surface, her life was in jeopardy.

"If my daughter or I pass away today. It's okay if we pass away as a result of God revealing the truth. However, my blood shall not go unpunished," the governor's daughter exclaimed.
The governor's media assistant Ekerete Udoh's line was cut off, making attempts to reach him for comment on his daughter's charges fruitless.
