Akpabio Predicts End of Traditional Political Parties by 2027

In Akwa Ibom State on Friday, Senate President Godwill Akpabio declared that the state will not have a political party until the general election of 2027 took place.

He said that the umbrella of the People's Democratic Party has been ripped apart and is no longer able to defend the populace.

During his midterm empowerment briefing at Ikot Ekpene township stadium, Akpabio, the Red Chamber representative for Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, stated.

Minibuses, passenger tricycles, danfo tricycles, cassava processing equipment, generator sets, cookers, and other equipment were given to 1,690 people in total.

"There is nothing like a political party in 2027 in Akwa Ibom State again," Akpabio stated as he spoke with him. All political parties have merged to support Senator Godswill Akpabio in the Senate of the Ikot-Ekpene Senatorial District. All political parties have decided to support Governor Umo Eno for the 2027 governor's race. Akwa Ibom has moved to support Senator Akpabio for the Senate, Eno for governor of Akwa Ibom State, and President Bola Tinubu.

"The umbrella is no longer able to protect the People's Democratic Party, which is in ruins."

There are others who claim God with their lips but not their hearts, the Senate President said, describing incumbent Governor Umo Eno as a man of peace and one who professes God in his heart.

Umo Eno is a man of peace. Umo Eno is a devout man. I'm not referring about people who made verbal declarations of faith. I'm referring to people who sincerely practice God. "Umo Eno has united us all," Akpabio remarked.


For the purpose of remembering that every time he phoned his wife, she was either empowering the people or doing something else, the Senate President expressed gratitude to his wife, Unoma Akpabio, for her efforts.

30 minibuses, 67 passenger tricycles, 50 cassava processing machines, 347 deep freezers, 247 generating sets, truckloads of 50 kg sacks of rice, cash handouts, and other items were distributed as part of the empowerment.

About 68 projects have been scheduled for commissioning between Friday, May 16, and Thursday, May 17, 2025, according to the Senate President, who moved on from the empowerment ground to commissioning other life-changing projects in his area.

As he welcomed people to the empowerment, the chairman of Essien Udim Local Government earlier thanked the Senate president for his dedication to empowering his people. He claimed that Akpabio has been devoted to his people throughout his tenure as commissioner, governor, and Senate President.
