Falz addresses rumoured relationship with Bobrisky

Following a leaked phone call that sparked online comments in 2024, Nigerian rapper and actor Folarin Falana, also known online as Falz, has rejected allegations that he was romantically involved with crossdresser Bobrisky.

Online critic VeryDarkMan initially shared the footage, which went viral on social media, and claimed that Falz had kept in regular contact with Bobrisky while the crossdresser was incarcerated.

Speaking on Arise TV on Wednesday night, Falz claimed that the discussion was misconstrued and unrelated to a romantic relationship.

He said Bobrisky, like many others, had called out for help on Instagram.

Before that phone conversation, I had never been in a relationship with Bobrisky. "I'm in this case and I want to speak to you about how you can help," Falz said in an Instagram message he sent me.

"This is not a special case; it's not exceptional in any way," he added, explaining that he typically grants such requests out of sympathy.

Falz went on to say, "Maybe I will be much more conscious," adding that he now regrets the call.

An update on his ongoing litigation against VeryDarkMan was also provided by the entertainer.

He claimed that a defamation lawsuit he and his father, Femi Falana, SAN, had brought was already pending and had overcome an initial objection.

"I was in court on the last date. That preliminary objection has been dismissed by the court. He stated, "They must now enter a defense or the court will simply rule on the case."

Born Idris Okuneye, Bobrisky was released in August after receiving a six-month term in April 2024 for destroying naira notes.

However, VeryDarkMan has also made headlines for a number of court cases involving defamation and cyberbullying.
