According to the Personal Assistant to Onyeibe, Miss Chimaobi, he was arrested on the road while driving.
Narrating how Onyeibe was arrested, Chimaobi said her boss travelled to Igweocha to be with his family on Friday after an official assignment.
On Saturday morning, according to her, he called and gave her some assignments and promised to call back later for the feedback.
However, when she didn’t hear from him as he assured earlier, she put a call across to him severally through his mobile lines around 11am . The calls were not answered or returned.
At midday, one Mr Timothy, who according to Miss Chimaobi, is Onyeibe’s close friend called her and said that Onyeibe’s car was spotted parked at one gas station in Igweocha, Port Harcourt, with Onyeibe nowhere to be found.
Moment later, some DSS officials reportedly pulled up at the Synagogue Church where Onyeibe worships and walked around the auditorium even as a programme was going on, disrupting the service.
When some elders approached the DSS and inquired of their unusual and highly disturbing presence in the Church, they simply said they came to fellowship with them. But they were sceptical especially as they (DSS) were heavily armed and in uniform.
Unknown to the Church, Onyeibe had already been picked up and was inside the SUV they brought to the Church.
After few minutes, the DSS drove away and left the synagogue, at about 1pm.
Miss Chimaobi narrated further: “They drove straight to Onyeibe’s residence, brought him out of their black Jeep handcuffed, seized his wife’s phones and searched the whole house and compound even without a search warrant. They simply told the wife they got the report that Onyeibe manufactures explosives in his house.
“When their search yielded no result, they bundled Onyeibe back into the black Jeep they came with, still handcuffed and drove hurriedly out of the compound to an unknown destination without uttering any other word.”
Onyeibe is still in the detention of the DSS as the time of filing this report, Monday morning.
However, the arrest could not be independently confirmed as the Service has no spokesman.
