"Secure a Safer Future: Makinde's Bold Plan for 2025"
On Tuesday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde directed the Nigerian military to increase its efforts in 2025 to tackle terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and other security challenges that could impede the country's economic development.

He made the statement at the conclusion of the 2024 Base Sociocultural Activities and Veterans' Parley of the 655 Nigerian Air Force Station, which was held in Ibadan, the state capital.

Makinde, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, viewed 2024 as a successful year, praising the military's critical role in ensuring peace and security in the state during the year.

The governor reiterated the state government's commitment to providing the necessary assistance to protect the safety of people and property in the region.

He went on: "We want to charge the Nigerian military to intensify its efforts in 2025 to combat terrorism, kidnapping, armed banditry, and other security threats that could hinder the country's economic development."

In his speech, Air Commodore George Akinyimika, Commander of the 655 Nigerian Air Force Station, praised the governor for his continued support of military operations.

He acknowledged the close cooperation between the Nigerian Air Force, the state government, the Nigerian Army, and other security services.

Akinyimika also praised the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, for his vision of cultivating a motivated force through comprehensive welfare measures.


He also recognized the officers, airmen, airwomen, and their families for their ongoing sacrifices in service to the nation.
