84 victims rescued as police bust Human Trafficking ring in Oyo

In Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, the Oyo State Police Command has discovered a human trafficking organization.

Eighty-three people including a kid from a home in the city's Orogun neighborhood were being held against their will when the police stormed the building.

The victims, who are thought to be DRC citizens, were allegedly enticed to Nigeria by false promises of job possibilities, according to preliminary reports.

As part of the complex plan, the criminals allegedly demanded large quantities of money, supposedly in dollars, from the victims' parents and other family members.

Authorities are currently doing more investigations to determine the complete specifics of the crime while the rescued individuals are at the Police Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.
