How Kogi's LNG Plants Are Transforming Nigeria's Energy Landscape
Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi, says the development of five mini-liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants in Kogi by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited will position the state as a key player in the energy sector.

Ismaila Isah, the governor's special assistant on media, said in a statement that Ododo attended the LNG plants' groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday.
Ododo praised the project as a major turning point that advances his administration's objective of establishing Kogi as a major hub for Nigeria's industrial and energy growth.
According to him, the project would provide access to electricity, create job opportunities, draw large investments to the state, and boost the state's economy.

The governor restated his administration's commitment to developing a workforce with the necessary skills, which will be mirrored in the prospects created by fresh investments in the nascent energy industry.
He praised the NNPC and its private sector partners for their investment in the state's energy infrastructure, as well as President Bola Tinubu for spearheading Nigeria's energy transition.
"This project is about more than just producing gas; it's about creating jobs, transforming the economy, and making sure our state is at the forefront of Nigeria's energy future."
The governor restated his administration's commitment to developing a workforce with the necessary skills, which will be mirrored in the prospects created by fresh investments in the nascent energy industry.
He praised the NNPC and its private sector partners for their investment in the state's energy infrastructure, as well as President Bola Tinubu for spearheading Nigeria's energy transition.
"These plants will be an important resource for the domestic and global energy markets, with an initial combined production capacity of over 80 million cubic feet per day," he continued.

Speaking as well, the president's executive order expediting the development of the LNG plants was praised by Ekperikpo Ekpo, minister of state for petroleum resources (Gas).
According to him, the initiatives are a direct response to the federal government's drive to promote industrialization initiatives and optimize Nigeria's gas potential.
