Historic Win for Beyoncé Defines 2025 Grammy Awards – Full Winners List
Redressing what many consider to be a historic injustice, Beyoncé won the best album award at the 67th Grammy Awards for Los Angeles.

The artist is known for her eighth album, Cowboy Carter, which contextualizes and honors the black heritage of country music. On four different occasions, she was not awarded the major prize during the ceremony.

Before Beyoncé took the stage in her gold paisley outfit to claim the trophy, she hugged her daughter Blue Ivy and her husband Jay-Z as they read out her name.

"I just feel very full and very honoured," she says. "Many, many years don pass."

The singer dedicates her award to Linda Martell, who was the first black woman to perform solo at the Grand Ole Opry and one of the first black artists in country music (Ms. Martell appears on a number of Cowboy Carter tracks).

Continued, "I hope we just keep pushing forward [and] opening doors," Beyoncé said. "May God bless you all. Thank you very much.

The star's win comes 25 years after she was nominated for her first Grammy as a member of the R&B group Destiny's Child.

With 35 medals, she went on to become the most-awarded artist in Grammy history, but she didn't receive the big honor until Sunday night.
