Suspected ISSP jihadists attack supply convoy escorted by military, kill 40 in Mali

At least 40 people were killed when suspected Islamic State in the Sahel Province, or ISSP, extremists assaulted a supply truck in Mali that was being escorted by the military.

The jihadists also damaged five vehicles during the event, which took place in northern Mali along the Ansongo-Gao axis.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency specialist specializing in the Lake Chad region, revealed this in a post on his X account.

According to Makama, security sources verified that the attack happened close to Kobe, a dangerous neighborhood that is regularly targeted by armed groups associated with ISSP and Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin, or JNIM.

The story claims that the convoy, which was transporting necessary supplies, was being escorted by the military when it was heavily shot at.
