Man City have one per cent chance at Real Madrid, says Guardiola

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, thinks his team has a "one per cent" chance of defeating Real Madrid in their Champions League match on Wednesday.

Last week, City led 2-1 with four minutes remaining in their play-off match, but lost 3-2 at home in the first leg.

"Everyone is aware of the margin to win at the Bernabeu from that position, and we arrive at 1% as the percentage to pass." Or I'm not sure, but it will be very little," Guardiola stated.

"But we will definitely try, as much as you have a chance. Although we are proceeding as usual, the truth is that we have been far away this season.

"This season, we have had incredibly subpar performances and outcomes."

Even though this season's campaign finishes on Wednesday, City is headed to Spain on high spirits after defeating Newcastle 4-0 in the Premier League, which kept them on track for a return to the Champions League.

"We had a great game on Saturday, but that won't alter the reality or the perception. However, given this outcome, it's obviously preferable to go to Madrid," the City manager continued.
