Singer Angie Stone dies in car accident

At the age of 63, Angie Stone, a well-known vocalist and a vital part of the innovative hip-hop duo The Sequence, passed suddenly.

Deborah R. Champagne, her representative, claims that Angie died in a car accident early on Saturday morning after departing a concert in Montgomery, Alabama. When the accident happened, she was on her way to another show at the CIAA basketball tournament in Baltimore. At this point, the crash's specifics are unknown.

Deborah revealed that she had only spoken to Angie the previous evening, and her friends and family are shocked by the news of her death.

As a member of The Sequence, the first all-female band signed to the storied Sugar Hill Records, Angie Stone became well-known. The Sequence recorded the popular song "Funk You Up" and put out three albums between 1979 and 1985. Major musicians like Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" and Dr. Dre's "Keep Their Heads Ringin'" have sampled this tune.

In the latter part of the 1990s, Angie began a prosperous solo career. "Wish I Didn't Miss You," one of her signature songs, was published in 2001 after her debut album, Black Diamond, went gold in the US.
