Two Pakistani nationals, Aftab Ahmad, 19, and Roman Gull, 28, have been taken into custody on suspicion of planning the abduction of a Pakistani man, 48, in the Ikeja neighborhood of Lagos.
The victim was enticed to Lagos from Kano by the accused and five other people using a fictitious employment offer as a chef, according to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command.
According to reports, the suspects arranged for the victim's transportation to Lagos and secured lodging for him at a hotel on February 28, 2025.
But the following day, they overpowered the victim, bound him, and demanded that his employer in Kano pay a ransom of N50 million. The boss allegedly alerted the police after paying N1 million to buy time.
