Governor Alia Accuses Politicians of Fostering Benue Killings
Governor Alia claims that these politicians are harboring and funding terrorists in addition to launching the attacks.

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has made a shocking admission regarding the recent spike in attacks throughout the state, alleging that the violence is being orchestrated by certain active members of the National Assembly.

Governor Alia claims that these politicians are harboring and funding terrorists in addition to launching the attacks.

According to SaharaReporters, Benue State and other North Central States have seen a rise in violent attacks in recent weeks, with multiple local government areas suffering from violent onslaughts that have resulted in the deaths of many people.

"We are under siege," Governor Alia said during an appearance on Channels Television's Politics Today on Friday. "The way these attacks come and the intel we receive, it is a directed calibrated plan and then executed," he added.

Alia, who was clearly upset over the slaughter occurring in his state, said the attacks were "directed, planned, and executed" and that intelligence assessments were 60–65% accurate.

"We're getting those intelligence reports. Nowadays, 60 to 65 percent of the information we get is correct.

When you realize what is happening, you realize that it is more than just a quarrel or an ethnic battle between farmers and herders in our state; it is planned, directed, and carried out; it is some form of terrorism.

Alia reaffirmed his dedication to defending the lives of the Benue people, claiming that he had the right to do so.

That being said, he maintained that he no longer saw the attacks as a conflict between herders and farmers.

He said the attacks were committed by specialized killers, a type of terrorism known as guerilla warfare.

Somehow, none of them are ever apprehended; they enter in the middle of the night, strike, and flee without anyone noticing. Therefore, some terrorism is consuming us," he said.

The governor disclosed that a preliminary report from a judicial panel he established had indicted a number of prominent figures, while also accusing some Abuja politicians of funding the attacks.

Alia promised to take the issue seriously once the panel's findings is finalized, which is anticipated to happen next week.

"We have an initial report from the judicial panel we established to determine why we continued to face attacks from both the inside and the outside.

I will receive a comprehensive report from the panel between Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

It is extremely disturbing because certain highly effective politicians who are in the National Assembly and in Abuja are the ones who not only instigated but also harbored and kept these individuals, keeping them in the bushes, paying all of their bills, and purchasing all of their devices.

"This is totally unacceptable. I believe I am acting in the best interests of the general public and have the right to defend them if they dislike the lives of the people and are battling for their own political position.
